Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is searching for a Senior Vice President, Global Communications to lead the company’s global communications strategy.  In partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Leadership Team, this senior leader is responsible for elevating Wyndham’s global corporate narrative across external media relations, brand public relations, industry trade and development media, corporate and investor relations communications, crisis communications, internal and team member communications, and franchise communications functions.   This position is based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Parsippany, NJ.

This leader will be responsible for developing and executing the communications strategy across all key audiences – media, guests, franchisees, investors, team members – that drive awareness and engagement as well as strengthen the company’s profile, while promoting Wyndham’s signature brands, industry leadership and unique value proposition. This progressive communications executive will implement creative public relations strategies that garner global headlines and support the company’s mission and business vision and oversees the team that is responsible for messaging, positioning and execution.

The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker and outstanding relationship builder, collaborator, and influencer who brings a global company perspective, strong media and industry relations, and exceptional written and communication skills to the role. This leader will be a change agent.

An integral part of the Senior Leadership team, this role requires that the individual be adept at navigating a complex global corporate structure across multiple countries and cultures. The role offers daily exposure and interaction with the highest levels of the organization, with a high level of decision-making autonomy.

Key Responsibilties

  • Lead a world-class communications team that elevates the company reputation and reinforces the company’s business objectives.
  • Oversee development, management, and direction of media relations and brand public relations, corporate and investor relations communications, crisis communications, internal communications, and franchise communications functions.
  • Increase franchisee value proposition by developing a best-in-class franchise and owner communications function that leverages innovative products and services to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of message delivery.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership to create the company’s brand narrative and voice that will be the benchmark for all external messaging.  Collaborate productively with other departments to deliver consistent, aligned and impactful communications.
  • Develop creative brand campaigns to amplify individual hotel brands and portfolio storytelling to new and emerging audiences.
  • Develop a global public relations strategy that amplifies the Wyndham story across multiple platforms – business, consumer, industry trade, and more.
  • Support company global growth and development strategy with targeted media relations efforts.
  • Develop positive relationships with new and traditional media, influencers and secure press coverage. Manage media relations, pitching and incoming press inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to elevate investments made in paid, owned and earned media.  Actively seek out multi-channel platforms of communication and engagement initiatives. Leverage innovative and emerging technology channels.
  • Provide speech and presentation support to senior leadership team.
  • Oversee and develop talking points for press appearances by executive team. Provide media training and support to senior leadership team.
  • Manage crisis communications and reputational issues as needed.
  • Act as official company spokesperson.
  • Oversee Wyndham events team responsible for planning and execution of events including Wyndham conferences, sales trade shows, and large scale internal and franchisee meetings and events.



This position will manage multiple high-profile and high-priority efforts daily and will need to inspire collaboration across entire enterprise. This leader must make decisions daily on work priorities, budget allocation and team resourcing.

Candidate must work collaboratively with all teams in the organization from the senior most levels and be self-motivated and work well independently to own projects and inspire internal department’s cooperation.


  • 15+ years Communications or Public Relations experience
  • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications or Public Relations preferred
  • Progressive and successful communications experience managing a communications function/department in a large, matrixed global company or agency; Franchise  organization or Consumer brand, Hospitality/Travel experience preferred.
  • Track record of developing and managing external and corporate communications strategies during a period of transformational change where public relations and internalpositionin g is critical to overall company success.
  • Proven results through a forward-thinking approach utilizing a full range of communication platforms.
  • Expertise working executive level leadership
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and adapt to changes in business priorities with complex and fluid timelines and multiple stakeholders
  • Detail oriented, excellent organization and time management skills
  • Collaborative and a self-starter
  • Ability to handle high pressure/deadline oriented environment
  • Experience managing managers and leading effective teams
  • Creative thinker, excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to utilize the Associated Press writing style

  • This position will be responsible for a team in NAMER with dotted line reporting and responsibility for PR teams in regions (EMEA, PAC, LATAMC)
