Maruchy Cantu was announced in December as the new executive vice president of administration, diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I) at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. She will help guide the vision and strategy for human resources, communications, risk, and diversity programs.

Cantu has more than 25 years of experience in multiple industries, including retail, transportation, consumer package goods, and manufacturing. Previously she worked at MORSCO as the chief human resources officer and at PepsiCo as the senior director of human resources. Her LinkedIn page shares the following:

“I believe an organization is only as good as its people!

“I’m a passionate believer that an organization’s culture sets the stage for how people ‘show up’ to work and as a result how engaged they are in achieving organizational objectives. I value an organization where the company’s values, mission and goals create a work environment where employees can be productive, satisfied and engaged in their responsibilities.

“I develop HR strategy where executive leadership aligns on policies, procedures, architecture, programs, compliance, values, behaviors, goals, technology, and code of conduct that reflect a positive, employee-centric work environment and conveys to employees that they’re valued for who they are and the contributions they make.

“As a leader, I work with people in all stages of their career journey. I enjoy providing clarity to expectations and watching people flourish as they work through the dynamics of their key deliverables. I focus on being present and meeting people where they are, providing personalized support for their journey. I get great personal satisfaction in watching others grow and realize their greatest potential.

“I love what I do — whether mentoring someone through a career decision, solving a complex business problem, developing a new process/policy/program, networking or benchmarking with others, leading change, advocating for DE&I, community outreach, and so much more. I consider myself very fortunate to be able to live out my best self while developing others and learning along the way.

“On a personal note, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and volunteering at my church and in the community.”
