Kristina Randorf is the vice president of revenue management at StepStone Hospitality. She’s also a Women Leading Travel & Hospitality member! In this member spotlight, we asked Kristina a series of questions about both her professional role and personal life, including the woman who inspires her, her leadership style, her advice for the next generation of female leaders, and much more.

  1. What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
“Together is Better” by Simon Sinek.
  2. What do you love most about the industry?
That it’s constantly evolving and never mundane.
  3. What is something the community may be surprised to learn about you?
Despite being extremely confident I still get nervous before presentations.
  4. What’s the toughest part of being in charge?
Recognizing and adapting to individual learning styles and abilities.
  5. What personal skill or attribute do you believe is most responsible for your success?
My transparency — sometimes to a fault — but I feel that it’s important to be consistently authentic and true to who I am.
  6. What woman inspires you right now and why?
My sister. Her level of patience in the toughest situations astounds me. It does not matter if she’s dealing with patients, her children, or our family … she is grounded, consistent, calm, and steadfast.
  7. What is one industry trend you’re closely tracking and why?
The use of AI and how it can be used to improve not only travel recommendations, but also everyday tools to improve proficiency.
  8. What is one thing you look for when interviewing a job candidate?
Hunger and drive. They need to want to win more than I do and that’s saying a lot. I can teach them systems, but I can’t teach them passion.
  9. What’s something that you learned about yourself in the past year?
That after a tumultuous year in 2023, I’m still standing and stronger than I think.
  10. What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
It’s OK to be passionate but not to take things personally. I literally remind myself of this every day. Some days it comes easily and others not so much.
  11. What values are most important to you as a leader?
    Honesty, integrity, and self-awareness.
  12. What’s the most important thing people should know about you?
I can’t stand assumptions or inauthentic conversations. Quality or quantity will always matter more to me.
  13. Do you prefer to work in the office, at home, or hybrid? Why?
I miss the social aspect of working on-site, however I’m much more productive working remotely, so I prefer that environment.
  14. Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled to? Why?
Turks and Caicos! Not overly crowded and some of the clearest most beautiful waters I have ever seen.
  15. What is the top item on your bucket list?
It’s a tie; to tour Italy with my husband and to own my own B&B or “tiny home” destination/campground.
  16. What do you do to recharge?
Have my husband take me for a motorcycle ride, listen to crime related podcasts, play games/spend time with my family.
  17. What is your biggest accomplishment?
Watching people I’ve mentored grow in their careers and become mentors for others.
  18. What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
There is no glass ceiling unless you set it. If you want it bad enough there is a way.
  19. What gets you up in the morning?
My dogs (LOL!). Second is my job. I think I’m one of the few who gets to say I actually love what I do.
  20. What do you like most about being a member of Women Leading Travel & Hospitality?
Collaborating and connecting with like-minded women in similar roles.
