Companies from all sectors of the travel and hospitality industry are doing their part to combat breast cancer. Here are a few examples of how organizations are using their platforms to promote positive change during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Delta Air Lines

Every October, Delta Air Lines raises money to support research projects through the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Since the partnership began in 2005, Delta has raised over $20 million and funded 80 research projects.

This year, customers can donate hands-free by sliding cash or gift cards into a plastic bag provided by the cabin crew that will later be collected by flight attendants wearing gloves. To maximize fundraising potential, Delta accepts cash (including most major foreign currencies) and gift cards on board.

In addition, during October, 20 percent of proceeds from all on-board sales will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to support researchers.

For 2021, the Pink Boutique is again virtual. Consumers can purchase discounted co-branded Delta and BCRF merchandise, including a facemask, through the online store. Proceeds from purchases on the Pink Boutique shop directly benefit BCRF.

Red Roof Inn

This October, Red Roof Inn is donating 5 percent of proceeds from its Room in Your Heart program to the American Cancer Society. From Oct. 1 through Oct. 31, Americans can help support the American Cancer Society during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and enjoy a 15 percent discount at participating properties.

In addition, when travelers download the enhanced Red Roof mobile app, now through Oct. 31, 2021, Red Roof will donate $1, up to $5,000, to support the American Cancer Society during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Hard Rock International

Hard Rock International celebrates two decades of its annual PINKTOBER campaign, supporting breast cancer awareness and research. Throughout October, Hard Rock Cafes, Hotels, Casinos and Rock Shops will be participating in the campaign through fundraising efforts supporting the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, the charitable arm of Hard Rock International, with proceeds benefiting national and local breast cancer charities.

Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos are going pink across the globe with one-of-a-kind events and activations, from community-driven local events to immersive on-property activations.

Norwegian Cruise Line

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, throughout October Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.’s new PortMiami terminal will be lit up pink in honor of survivors and those who have lost their lives to breast cancer. Norwegian Cruise Line also supports Save Our Sisters, a group of all breast cancer survivors, by donating a cruise to auction at the upcoming Miami Dragon Boat Festival.
