The Supreme Court last week rejected affirmative action in university admissions, ruling that race-conscious decisions are unconstitutional. This ruling could have a wide-ranging impact across travel and hospitality organizations, as it might lay the groundwork for future challenges to corporate diversity initiatives. Simply put, it’s not clear what the repercussions of this ruling will be on the business landscape.

Women Leading Travel & Hospitality acknowledges that this decision is unprecedented and presents potential challenges to leaders in the travel and hospitality industry and beyond. We know that many of our members will be looking closely at this decision and what it means for the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs at their organizations, and we support you as your face these challenges. We will continue to be the platform where discussions can take place, providing a safe space for open dialogue in a judgement-free environment.

Women Leading Travel & Hospitality will be following the impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling in the coming months and will have further updates for our community as they arise. We will be speaking to our members about this issue and what it may mean for their businesses and the industry at large. Our organization will continue to support and promote DEI efforts in the travel and hospitality industry through content in this newsletter as well as discussions at our live events and peer groups.
