PJ Oleksak, CEO of Nuts.com, shared her insights on embracing transformational leadership during the Women in Retail Leadership Summit, held April 28-30 on Amelia Island, FL. Women in Retail Leadership Circle is the sister brand of Women Leading Travel & Hospitality.

Oleksak’s playbook includes five steps to be a VITAL transformational leader:

  1. Voice a bold vision that inspires.
  2. Instill authenticity.
  3. Transform talent and potential.
  4. Activate curiosity and challenge the status quo.
  5. Lead with energy and consistency.

“You have to own it and model the behaviors that you want everyone else to,” Oleksak told the audience. “You’re the thermostat of the culture of your organization.”

Oleksak spoke as part of three 15-minute TED-style talks focusing on strategies and inspirational approaches to leadership.
