During National Women’s History Month, how can we level the playing field for working women in the fields of travel and hospitality by not only recognizing but actively addressing gender bias?
A new survey by Women Leading Travel & Hospitality, NAPCO Research and the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration aims to bring us closer to getting an answer to that question. We’re gathering information on your observances and experiences when it comes to gender diversity, career growth, and opportunities in the fields of travel and hospitality.
We know we’ve got a long way to go before we have gender parity in these industries, as well as many others. According to a 2021 Phocuswright Research survey, for every 100 men who are promoted, only 86 women are also promoted. We know that women’s careers were disproportionally impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We know that more people need to be made aware of this issue.
That’s why we’re asking for your feedback on what you’re experiencing every day when you show up at work. The more we know about your experiences and observations when it comes to gender diversity, the more ammunition we’ll have to better equalize the workplace.
