United Airlines hired Kimberly Perkins as a pilot, Perkins announced this month.

“Business aviation has been my professional ‘home’ for the past 13 years,” Perkins said in a LinkedIn post, referencing her previous job as a captain on the Gulfstream 650 aircraft, based in Seattle.

“I’m immensely grateful to the #bizav community,” she continued in her post. “I will certainly miss those coworkers and colleagues that became extended family, my beautiful #Gulfstream650 (and the left seat), and those exotic, remote destinations. I’m so very thankful for the experiences and friendships that came from this phase of my career. Looking at the next 20-plus years, I’m really excited to be at United! I feel that my personal values align really well with United’s corporate culture; and I am inspired by leaderships’ vision of the future!”
