Christina Rice, founder of OMNoire, a global wellness brand for Black women and women of color, spoke at last week’s Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Virtual Exchange about her career journey as a serial entrepreneur.

Rice is a health and wellness creative, as well as a certified yoga and meditation instructor. Having launched her first business at 21, a high-end women and men’s clothing boutique in Nashville, TN, she has always been a self-starter and entrepreneur at heart.

After four years in the retail apparel world, Rice sold the business and relocated to New York City. It is there that she embarked on a 13-year career in public relations, including launching her own agency, LuxeLife Media Inc., in April 2010.

Over the course of her career, Rice has worked with an array of high-profile personalities and brands, including Nick Cannon, Ciara, Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Aljazeera America, Campari USA, Anheuser-Busch, Tide, Café Bustelo, Panasonic, Carrera Sunglasses, American Airlines, and many more. In addition, Rice and her team have produced events at the Super Bowl, ESPYs, Emmys, BET Awards, Lollapalooza, SXSW, New York Fashion Week, among others.

In spring 2015, experiencing “entrepreneur burnout,” Rice decided to pursue her yoga teacher certification with a passion to share how yoga transformed her life to other entrepreneurs and busy professionals. She launched OMNoire two years later.

OMNoire hosted its first wellness retreat in Grenada in October 2017 for over 50 women from all over the world looking to recharge, refocus and recenter their lives. To date, OMNoire has hosted retreats in Barbados, the Poconos, Bali, and Arizona, to name a few locations. Currently, OMNoire has a community of over 40,000-plus women who are looking to reset, recharge and redesign their lives.

In this video clip from the Virtual Exchange, Rice talks about the importance of focusing on phases when building out a new idea, as well as staying true to yourself and your natural gifts in your leadership style.
