Words can’t express the inspiration and excitement I leave with after every time I get to meet more of you and collaborate with you in person. Last week was Women Leading Travel & Hospitality’s second time in Dallas for a Roundtable event and, wow, it didn’t disappoint! Cindy Solomon kicked off the event with a deep dive on courageous leadership. She talked about blind, role, crisis, and core courage. We learned more about each of them, which one comes naturally to us, and how we can put them all into action in different circumstances. Solomon tasked the audience with building the courage to focus on what moves their goals forward first.

Following Solomon’s keynote presentation came a panel discussion featuring inspiring leaders in the travel and hospitality industry. The panelists authentically shared their experiences with resistance, barriers that were in their way as they continued to grow as leaders, and their predictions on the future of travel. We wrapped up the one-day event with networking that none of us wanted to end.

The word of the week was COURAGE, and I couldn’t be more pleased. On my flight home, feeling pure joy and happiness after such an exciting event, I reflected on how far you have all come over the last two years. Being a part of your journey as courageous leaders, I wanted to share an amazing podcast episode that I listened to that I think you may all enjoy as well. The Rachel Hollis Podcast recently published an episode titled, “But, Are You Happy??” In the episode, Hollis addresses building out and prioritizing your joy list, being completely present, spending time alone with yourself, and finding the courage to truly focus on what moves your goals forward first so that you can “work hard and live well.” When you take the time to come to Women Leading Travel & Hospitality events, network with leaders from across the industry, and learn from each other, you’re investing in yourself and living well.

If you haven’t yet been to a Women Leading Travel & Hospitality event, or would like to join us at a future one, we have two more remaining this year! We will be hosting our Chicago Roundtable in July and our New York City Roundtable in October. And some more good news: these events are complimentary for members.
