Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of you fabulous women in travel and hospitality! I hope your holidays were joyful and relaxing. Mine were, and I was especially grateful for the downtime, which enabled me to spend quality time with my family and close friends. I also spent some time trying to figure out what my goals (aka resolutions) will be this year. What follows are a few I’ve come up with:

• start a gratitude journal;
• spend more time in and around art (e.g., visit museums, see experimental theater, etc.);
• get more (OK much more) physical activity; and
• try something new out of my comfort zone.

The last one is tricky for me. More often than I care to admit, finding the motivation to leave my comfort zone is hard. But I know the more I’m stuck in my comfort zone, the more opportunities I miss to fully immerse myself in the human experience.

If getting out of your comfort zone is also one of your resolutions, Women Leading Travel & Hospitality is certainly a safe place to step outside of it. There are so many great opportunities for members to stretch themselves and grow. Here’s just a small sampling:

• Join a WLTH peer group call and speak about something you’re passionate about or ask a question, even if that’s not something you normally would do.
• Contact a member via our membership directory and set up an informational call, which can lead to new job opportunities or industry knowledge.
• Attend a Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Roundtable, such as our event in Miami on Feb. 7, and network with other women leaders in the travel and hospitality world. As members, you can attend the Miami event and other Roundtables for free.
• Register for the Women Leading Travel & Hospitality Summit (June 5-7, Nashville) at a discounted rate. The Summit will offer women executives at leading travel and hospitality brands the opportunity to improve both their professional and personal lives. Registration is now open; we can’t wait to see you there!
